Based in Istanbul. Sia Moore specializes in architectural and interior design both at home and internationally. The company’s concept for the Bosphorus Waterfront Villa project originated from the traditional houses beside the Bosphorus Sea. The client has three sons and a daughter and so his design brief required a separate living space for each family member.
A palatial entrance hall adorned with classic ottoman lines and patterns used in a contemporary way creates a stunning first impression. Further traditional ottoman motifs and Islamic prints designed entirely by Sia Moore have been used throughout the project. Adding to the contemporary, elegant and neo classical decor, all furniture was custom designed and handmade using only the finest materials and silk carpets were derived from Usak in Turkey.
Due to the lack of natural daylight to the basement floor, a green corridor was created by using artificial bamboo to inject a sense of light and colour. This floor was designed with the client’s children in mind and reflects a play area as well as a place for the family to relax together when using the home cinema.
The client also specifically requested a spa area representing a traditional Turkish bath style hammam. The resulting bathroom consists of Turkish Marmara grey marble with custom designed handmade Turkish tiles to replicate this traditional look and atmosphere perfectly.
